Instructor: Dawn Alexander

Hello, I am looking forward to meeting you. I will be your line dance instructor. I have been teaching line dancing in Pensacola for a little over a year. BUT I am not new to dance or instructing dance. I have been dancing since I was a child, was formally trained and was a member of the Pittsburgh Youth Ballet Conservative. I was active in my high school band as a majorette, was on the dance team and was active in our drama department doing plays and musicals. I attended college in pursuit of the arts. I was dual enrolled at Carlow University and The University of Pittsburgh and received multiple degrees; Bachelors in Art Education and Elementary Education as well as my MFA with a concentration in art restoration. I was an active member of several dance cores, and drama groups in college. After college I was an active military spouse and mother to four amazing children. I spent several years home schooling my children. I was very active as a sports mom and pretty much any activity my children were involved. In 2010, I became a Zumba Instructor and taught for close to 8 years before taking a break due to health issues. Throughout all these years country dancing was always a love and passion I pursued. In 2021, I moved back to the panhandle of Florida and my passion for line dancing ignited. I started dedicating time to learn the dances, and in 2023 became a member of the Krewe of Daisy Dukes and currently a cochair of the Daisy Dukes Dancers. After a few people suggested I should teach, I created Sassy Steppers and the rest is history. Welcome to my page, look around, join me at a class or contact me for more information….and get out there and Kick your Boots up!!
